Birdie came to us from Shawna Garrettson of Kalara Siberians. This girl is everything I ever wanted in a dog. She is confident, social, athletic, playful & beautiful. She has had amazing handler focus and engagement from day one; is food-motivated, will work for toys, is smart, easy to train (for a Siberian :)) and super bonded to me. She has been extremely reliable off-leash from day one and has never lost this (unlike most Siberians who start to become more environmentally focused in their adolescence). She has been a dog I can literally take anywhere, from the very beginning. She is solid and trustworthy around all dogs, all humans, and any environment. Since 8 months old, she has stayed in several hotels with me, gone on at least a dozen camping trips, countless road trips, regularly goes to stores and outdoor restaurants with me. On top of being extremely easy to travel and live with, she has also enjoyed just about every sport she has tried so far. Even dock diving!

Birdie absolutely loves lure coursing. She competes in every all-breed venue in our area (AKC CAT & Fast CAT, ASFA LCI, & RACE AOK9). She may not be as fast as Rhys, but she has the drive!

Birdie began her nose work training in July 2022 and has come along very quickly as she is a natural! We have been very much enjoying this sport and she is going to give Agent a run for his money! She passed her anise & clove ORTs in 2024, we are just waiting for another one to re-try birch!

I began barn hunt & NASDA lessons with her in 2022 as well, and we were instantly hooked on NASDA. Just like all my other Siberians, she lost interest in Barn Hunt almost immediately when she realized she couldn't get to (or see) the rat, though we continued our training using food rewards and I am proud to say that Birdie earned her RATN and RATO titles in a single weekend, with zero NQ’s.

So far my dogs prefer NASDA since they can see the rats in the quarry box, and can be rewarded in trials. Birdie LOVES trailing & locating, as dogs can do this off leash and it feels a lot more like real critter hunting—big open fields or woods, tracking the scent trails. She is phenomenal at it and has a near 100% Q rate in TL, having had just ONE lesson previously. She now has her TL-1 and TL-2 titles, having running every course off-leash successfully. We are focusing on NASDA TL-3 in 2024, I hope for her to be the first Siberian husky to earn the title. She also earned her Urban Locating level 2 title at the beginning of 2024 and we look forward to trying level 3 this summer! Birdie was the #1 Siberian husky in NASDA TL2 and UL2 in 2023.

I also finally started her agility training in 2022, and we spent most of 2023 doing weekly private lessons. We hope to be ready to trial in 2024, with the goal of competing at the National in Colorado in October! So far the limiting factor in her agility career has been her handler.. :)

I am planning her first litter in fall 2024, please contact me if you are interested!
